Calathea Beautiful Star 12cm

The Calathea Ornata Beautiful Star is an absolute show stopper, similar to its sister plant with gorgeous pink stripes. The leaves are a little longer and thinner than the traditional Oranta and have a lovely mix of dark and light green strips with deep purple under the leaf.

This plant is sold in a 12cm plastic nursery pot.

Basic Care Requirements: 

Water:⠀
Calatheas can be quite sensitive to "tap" water. Fluoridated water can cause the leaves to brown from leaf-burn, we recommend filtering your water or collecting rainwater. They like to be evenly watered and kept moist but not soggy - they don't like to sit in water.⠀

Light:⠀
Loves bright indirect light, harsh direct sun will burn the leaves and fade the colour. They can handle low light conditions as well however they won't thrive.⠀⠀⠀

Soil:⠀
A standard high-quality indoor plant mix will be fine for Calatheas.

Humidity:
They love high humidity levels. You'll notice browning along the leaf tips if the humidity isn't high enough. You can place on a shallow pebble tray filled with water and mist regularly. Even outside in warm summer rain or bring into the bathroom when you have a hot shower or bath works wonders.⠀⠀

Fertiliser:⠀
Use a balanced fertiliser once a month during Spring and Summer.⠀⠀

Safe for children and animals.⠀
